Where were you born? I’m an Oregonian, born and raised in Portland.
Tell us how you came to ABI Insurance. After working at an auto collision repair center for several years, I wanted to get more involved in the insurance industry. This opportunity with ABI presented itself.
How long have you worked at ABI Insurance and what is your role at the company? I’ve worked at ABI for three years now. I started as a receptionist. Now I am the personal lines administrative assistant, and I am currently studying to get my insurance license.
How long have you worked in the insurance industry? Six years including the experience I gained at the auto repair center.
Outside of your favorite vacation spot, where is your happy place? The beach is my happy place. I love going to the coast year-round, rain or shine, even with snow!
What are your hobbies? I enjoy hiking and experiencing the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. I like to explore new areas. Lately, I’ve been going to the Gorge and discovering new trails. I am also a huge reader and love to dive into new books and new authors.
What shows are you streaming these days? I love period dramas. I’m currently watching season two of “The Empress” and I just finished binge watching “The Last Kingdom” on Netflix.
What is your favorite food? My absolute go-to when I don’t feel like cooking is Roxy’s Island Grill. The chicken katsu is super yummy.
What was the last book you read? One of my New Year’s resolutions is to read more non-fiction books, so I am currently reading “The Plantagenets: The Warrior Kings and Queens Who Made England” by Dan Jones. I am also re-reading “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” by Suzanne Collins in preparation for the next book in the series which is coming out March 2025.
What was your favorite thing to do as a kid? Every summer during my elementary school years, my brother and I would visit our grandparents for a week. My favorite parts of the trip included our annual shopping spree to Barnes and Noble and then stopping for hot chocolate afterwards. We also went to the Oregon State Fair. I loved these visits and would look forward to them months ahead of time. I especially cherish these memories now that my grandfather, my Bopie, is no longer with us.
Do you have any pets? If so, tell us about them. I love animals. I would have a whole menagerie if I could. Right now, I have two rambunctious kitties, Odin and Zeus. They are from the same litter. They are so smart. I had to switch out my doorknobs after they figured out how to open the doors by themselves. It was like the scene in “Jurassic Park” when the velociraptors get into the kitchen!
