Name: Michelle Elliott
Title: Community Association Specialist
Where were you born? I was born in Granada Hills, CA and grew up in Chatsworth, CA.
Tell us how you came to ABI Insurance and how long you have worked here. I joined ABI’s Community Association Team in February 2021, the day before my birthday. I previously worked in personal and commercial lines for both State Farm Insurance and an independent broker.
Describe your role at ABI Insurance. As a community association specialist, I’ve held various roles ranging from new business to renewals and even billing. Because I am knowledgeable in the submission process, I’ve also trained new team members.
What is your favorite food? Mexican — the spicier, the better!
Tell us about your family. I currently live with my husband, Duane. My two sons reside in Wisconsin with their wives, and I have one grandson.
Are you a dog person or a cat person? A dog person. When my boys were growing up in Minnesota and Wisconsin we had Golden Retrievers. Great, loyal dogs!
Who is your favorite superhero? My mom. She suffers from severe dementia. I am so grateful for all she has done and given to our family throughout the years. She is a loving, giving, supportive, adventurous, and beautiful woman inside and out. She has even volunteered for various organizations including the Boys and Girls Club of America. She is my superhero.
What was your first job? I was a bank teller at Security Pacific Bank. Like my grandmother, I worked in the banking industry for many years.
Are you a morning person or a night owl? I was never a morning person until I had children! Now, I enjoy the mornings, and I make sure I get to bed early.
What do you like to do on weekends? On weekends I enjoy spending time with family and friends. In the summer, my husband and I like to kayak or ride bikes. In addition to my current job, I work seasonally for the Hillsboro Hops in guest services. I am a sports fan, especially baseball and hockey. Duane and I also work seasonally for the Portland Winterhawks. We sell raffle tickets to support the WHL Scholarship Program. We love to watch hockey!
