Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, giving couples the opportunity to express their love for each other.

One of the best ways to spend that evening is cuddled up watching a movie. Luckily, there are many movies out there that would be perfect for the occasion of snuggling with your significant other on Valentine’s Day. Here’s a look at some of the best ones.

When Harry Met Sally

Directed by Rob Reiner, this 1989 film stars Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan, and also features an outstanding performance by the late and much beloved Carrie Fisher. It might be especially fitting for couples who started off as friends, or knew each other for years before getting together, as that’s exactly what Crystal’s Harry and Ryan’s Sally did in this classic flick.

Edward Scissorhands

This almost surreal look at the suburbs came out in 1990, was directed by Tim Burton and stars Johnny Depp and Winona Rider.

It was the first of many collaborations between Burton and Depp. The two later worked together on such movies as Sleepy Hollow in 1999, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2005, Sweeney Todd in 2007 and Alice in Wonderland in 2010.

50 First Dates

Released in 2004, this film stars Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, as well as a supporting cast that includes Rob Schneider, Dan Aykroyd and Maya Rudolph. It’s set in Hawaii, so the scenery may either provide artificial internal warmth, or remind you of how much sunnier it is in other places.

This movie also boasts a fantastic soundtrack that includes a tropical version of the Cure’s “Love Song” by alternative rock band 311. Another Cure song, “Friday, I’m in Love,” in covered in reggae style. There are also cover versions of other classic songs from the 80s, including “Hold Me Now,” “Drive” by the Cars and UB40 doing “Every Breath You Take” by the Police.

Barrymore and Sandler had previously co-starred in the 1998 movie “The Wedding Singer.” In 1999, Barrymore starred in “Never Been Kissed” alongside David Arquette. Either of those other romantic comedies would also be worthy of consideration for a Valentine’s Day binge watch.

Sleepless in Seattle

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan stole the show in this 1993 classic. Co-stars include Bill Pullman, Rosie O’Donnell and Rita Wilson, Hanks’ longtime real-life spouse.

Hanks and Ryan had previously teamed up in 1990’s “Joe Versus the Volcano.” They later collaborated in another romantic comedy, 1998’s “You’ve Got Mail,” which is a take on online dating when it was still in its relative infancy. In fact, the movie’s title is derived from the greeting that users of America Online (AOL) would get when opening e-mail messages.
